Vehicle Finance

Finance for the vehicle that does the work

A car for the daily drive, a ute for the tools, a van for the round, the right vehicle keeps life and business moving, and the wrong finance quietly overcharges you for years. We arrange finance for cars and transport vehicles across a wide panel of lenders, and structure it properly for how the vehicle will actually be used.

Who this is for

  • Anyone buying a car, dealer, private sale or trade-in upgrade
  • Tradies financing a ute or work vehicle on their ABN
  • NDIS providers adding vans to deliver their services
  • Transport and courier operators growing a fleet

The usual sticking points

Dealer finance is one quote, not a comparison

The finance desk at the dealership offers one option from one source, often with commission built in. Signing on the day can cost you the chance to compare.

Personal or business? The structure matters

The same vehicle can be financed as a consumer car loan or a business facility like a chattel mortgage, with different rates, tax treatment and paperwork. Picking by default rather than by design leaves money behind.

Repayments hide the real cost

A low weekly repayment can conceal a long term, a large balloon or added fees. The total cost of the deal is what matters, and it takes a side-by-side comparison to see it.

How Influx helps

What we actually do about it

Lenders compared before you commit

We quote across banks and specialist vehicle financiers so you can negotiate the purchase already knowing your funding cost, instead of working it out at the dealer's desk.

Utes and work vehicles for tradies

For ABN holders on the tools we arrange ute and work-vehicle finance with structures suited to business use, and with OneHQ Accounting alongside, the tax treatment is considered before you sign, not at return time.

Vans for NDIS providers

We help NDIS businesses finance the vans their services run on, including vehicles that will be fitted out for the work, structured around the business rather than forced into a standard car loan.

Private sales handled properly

Buying from a private seller is financeable with most lenders but needs extra checks on the vehicle and payout. We manage that process so settlement doesn't stall.

Step by step

How the process runs

You'll know what's happening at every stage, this is the map.

  1. 1

    Quick quote

Tell us the vehicle and rough price, we come back with indicative options fast.

  2. 2

    Structure check

Consumer loan or business facility, confirmed against how the vehicle will be used.

  3. 3

    Approval

Often within days for standard vehicles and straightforward applications.

  4. 4

    Settlement with the seller

We coordinate payment with the dealer or private seller so pickup isn't delayed.

  5. 5

    Review down the track

Balloon due, fleet growing or upgrading, we plan the next step before it's urgent.

Worth knowing

Key considerations before you start

  • Lenders apply age limits to vehicles, older cars and vans are financed on different terms.
  • Balloon or residual payments lower repayments but leave a lump sum to plan for at the end.
  • Comprehensive insurance is generally required for the life of the loan.
  • Claiming business use has tax consequences that depend on your circumstances, worth checking before, not after.

FAQs

Vehicle Finance questions, answered

Should I take the dealership's finance?
Sometimes it's competitive, often it isn't, it's one quote from one source. Having your own finance arranged (or at least quoted) before you're standing in the showroom puts the comparison, and the negotiating position, back in your hands.
Can I finance a ute through my ABN?
Yes. For tradies and other ABN holders, work vehicles are commonly financed through business facilities such as chattel mortgages, which treat GST, depreciation and interest differently to a consumer car loan. Which structure suits you depends on your tax position, we check it with our accounting arm before you commit.
How does vehicle finance work for NDIS businesses?
Much like other business vehicle finance, the van is financed through the business, with the structure chosen for your setup and cash flow. Vehicles being fitted out for service delivery can need a lender comfortable with the modifications, and we know which ones are.
Can I finance a car from a private seller?
Usually yes. Most lenders finance private-sale vehicles, but they run extra checks on the car's title, any existing finance owing, and the payout process. We handle those steps so the sale goes through cleanly.
